Bruchsal’s cultural highlights include many street festivals in the town centre and the various districts – e.g. the Schlossfest (Palace Festival) in the centre itself, the Reichsstadtfest (Imperial Town Festival) in Heidelsheim, the Kelterfest (New Wine Festival) in Helmsheim, the Mostfest (Cider and Pear Festival) in Büchenau, the Burgfest (Castle Festival) in Obergrombach and the Joss-Fritz-Fest in Untergrombach.
Moreover, quite a few special events are held at the Palace and in the Palace Gardens. Year on year, they include concerts, theatre performances and other events. Some of the highlights are the Bruchsaler Schlosskonzerte (Bruchsal Palace Concerts) given by Bruchsal’s cultural society, Kulturring, as well as Open-Air classical concerts in the Palace Gardens, the Theatersommer (Theatrical Summer) of Badische Landesbühne (Baden State Theatre) and the Schlossweihnacht (Palace Christmas).
Every two years the Bergfried Spectaculum transforms the Bürgerpark near the Bürgerzentrum (convention centre) into a mediaeval village, and during the asparagus season culinary delights can be sampled on Otto-Oppenheimer-Platz and Kübelmarkt under the heading “The Bruchsal Asparagus Experience”.
Bruchsal has numerous further interesting events in its diary.
